How to Start Decluttering
Have you ever felt the urge to simplify your life but found yourself struggling to take the first step?
If you have, you're not alone.
Some time back, a sister reached out to me saying how much she wanted to declutter her life.
She told me how she'd decluttered a single drawer.
And that every so often, she'd open up that drawer and just look at it.
She said it probably sounded silly.
It didn’t.
Not at all.
I smile when I think of her opening that drawer.
I understand.
Because that drawer is more than just a tidy space in the midst of clutter and chaos.
It’s possibility - the possibility of something different.
It's potential. It's hope.
Because if you can declutter one drawer, you can do two.
And from there, perhaps a cupboard, then a room.
And bit by tiny bit, you can transform your life, one drawer at a time.
All it takes is a decision.
That today is the day you begin!
Declutter a Drawer!
- Set your intention.
- Make du'a. Ask Allah for His help!
- Pick something small and easy, like a drawer, and just start! Don't overthink it, just start.
- Set a time for 10 or 20 minutes and clear your tiny space.
- Celebrate your success! Thank Allah.
- Look at your new decluttered space.... see the potential.
Repeat. Repeat, Repeat.
